Do I need to re-enter my client data?
No. Your existing client database in Tribe is used directly to populate your invoices. There is no duplicate data entry.
What if I already use another accounting tool?
Qonto integrates with 2,000+ tools including all major accounting software (Pennylane, QuickBooks, Sage, Cegid, etc.). Your accountant can also be given read-only access to your Qonto account at no extra cost, so they can access invoices and receipts directly.
An electronic invoice, also known as an e-invoice, refers to an invoice where the entire process (creation, issuance, transmission, and reception) is conducted in a structured electronic format to ensure the automatic processing of this document.
Like a paper invoice, each electronic invoice must contain all mandatory information such as:
date and invoice number;
identity of the seller or service provider;
customer details;
description of the products and services sold;
applicable VAT rate;
payment method information.
Since January 1, 2020, the issuance and transmission of an invoice to a public sector administration must be done in electronic format for all companies based in France. To do this, State suppliers use the dematerialization platform Chorus Pro.
In accordance with the ordinance no. 2021-1190 of September 15, 2021, the French government has enacted the reform regarding the obligation to switch to electronic invoicing. It will apply to exchanges made between two professionals subject to VAT and established in France.
The entry into force of the obligation to create and issue electronic invoices will differ according to the size of the company.
The obligation to issue invoices is set from:
September 1, 2026, for large companies and medium-sized enterprises
September 1, 2027, for small and medium-sized enterprises and micro-enterprises
The obligation to receive electronic invoices will apply from September 1, 2026, for all companies.
Additionally, all companies subject to VAT will be required to demand an electronic invoice format from their suppliers from the first day of the reform's implementation, as long as their suppliers are subject to the obligation to transmit an e-invoice.
What about other companies?
Note that some professionals will remain exempt from the mandatory transmission of an electronic invoice to their clients. Namely, those who conduct transactions with individuals (delivery of goods or services) or with clients based outside of France.
However, these companies are subject to e-reporting. This involves the transmission to the tax administration of several pieces of information related to commercial exchanges not subject to the issuance of an electronic invoice, such as :
invoice amount;
VAT amount.
The implementation of e-reporting mainly concerns transactions with individual clients or clients based outside of France.
In addition to electronic invoicing, the information collected as part of e-reporting allows for automatically completing your VAT declaration and providing an overview of your company's economic activity.
