Pay B2B invoices in instalments

Installment payment (or staggered payment) of invoices is a payment method that allows you to divide the total amount of a purchase into several smaller installments. In practice, you purchase products or services immediately and defer payment to a later date, either through staggered installments or a single payment. 

This online payment option makes it easier to access high-value products or services without having to pay the full amount upfront. It also simplifies your supplier invoice management. 

Financing conditions vary by supplier. Check the terms and conditions before making your decision, as the total price may include interest and additional fees that increase the cost of credit compared to a single payment.

Installment payments offer many advantages for better financial management of your business. The flexibility of this payment method allows you to optimize your cash flow management and seize growth opportunities without impacting your immediate liquidity. This is often a crucial issue for your business.

Paying an invoice in installments with Qonto's Pay Later is simple and fast. The entire process is done from your mobile app or the website.  

You must first activate the feature and sign the financing contract. Setting up this service is done in a few clicks if you meet the required conditions to benefit from it. 

Need to finance a supplier invoice? Here are the steps to follow: 

• Access your Qonto account and go to the section dedicated to installment payments or the transfers section. 
• Once this first step is completed, upload the supplier invoice you wish to pay in installments. 
• Then, the system automatically checks its validity and displays the transfer details. You can then confirm or modify them. 
• On the next screen, you can activate the Installment Payment option and select the payment term you prefer (3, 9, or 12 installments).
• You view the detailed payment plan and the total amount to be repaid, including interest. 
• You can confirm and complete the operation.

The invoice must have been issued less than 60 days ago. If you received an invoice more than two months ago, you cannot pay it in installments with Qonto's Pay Later.

If the invoice also has a due date, it cannot be more than 10 days before the date you make your financing request.

You can finance your supplier invoices with deferred payment, but other payment solutions exist. Here are examples of alternatives to Pay Later: 

• overdraft credit (bank overdraft) that you can obtain from your bank; 
• business leasing; 
• factoring; 
• crowdlending or crowdfunding. 

These forms of financing all have advantages, disadvantages, and costs that you should evaluate based on your financial situation and needs. 

Indeed: 

• overdraft credits offer quick access to funds but often have higher interest rates; 
• leasing is ideal for financing vehicles or professional equipment; 
• factoring allows you to obtain immediate liquidity through the sale of receivables; 
• crowdlending enables financing from a large number of private investors.

To be eligible for Qonto's Pay Later service, the invoice must be a readable and high-quality document, so the system can automatically recognize the data it contains. 

The supplier invoice must include: 

• the issue date, which must not exceed 60 days; 
• the total amount including tax, with a minimum of 150 euros; 
• the full name of the supplier (its appearance in the logo is not sufficient); 
• an identification number (SIREN, SIRET, supplier's VAT number).

If indicated, the due date cannot be more than 20 days before the date of the financing request.

In case of a delay in paying an installment, your Qonto account is subject to restrictions until your situation is regularized:

• you lose access to deferred payment for B2B invoices;
• your account is blocked: no payment by card, transfer, or direct debit is possible; 
• daily penalties of 0.04% are applied on the installment's principal. 

To resolve the situation, you must top up your account with the necessary amount and pay the overdue installment (installment + accumulated penalties). If the delay exceeds 5 days, you permanently lose access to deferred payment for your future transactions.

To avoid this, Qonto sends you an email 3 days before each due date with the details of the payment to be made.

With Qonto, you can buy now and pay later for your supplier invoices. To benefit from this credit payment, you must choose a financing term: 3, 9, or 12 installments. This service is not free, but it is very attractive since you can access deferred payment at a lower cost. 

You can also repay your financing early at any time, to reduce or even eliminate the remaining interest on the financed invoice.

The nominal monthly rate starts at 0.62%. The effective rates are calculated based on your company's profile and payment history. They are displayed in your account before each financing request.
