Split payments for your B2B invoices

Invoice split (or staggered) payment is a payment method that allows dividing the total amount of a purchase into several reduced monthly payments. 

Concretely, you buy products or services immediately and defer payment to a later date, in the form of staggered payments or a single settlement. This online payment option facilitates access to high-value products or services without having to immediately pay the full amount. It also simplifies your supplier invoice management. Financing conditions vary by supplier. 

Check the general conditions before making your decision, as the total price may include additional interest and commissions that increase the credit cost compared to a single payment.

Paying an invoice in instalments with Qonto's Pay Later is simple and fast. The entire process is done from your mobile app or website. 

You must first activate the feature and sign the financing contract. Setting up this service is done in just a few clicks if you meet the required conditions to benefit from it. 

Need to finance a supplier invoice? Here are the steps to follow:

1. Access your Qonto account and go to the section dedicated to split payments or the transfers section.

2. Once this first step is completed, upload the supplier invoice you want to pay in instalments.

3. Then, the system automatically verifies its validity and shows you the transfer details. You can then confirm or modify them.

4. On the next screen, you can activate the Split Payment option and select the payment terms you prefer (3, 9, or 12 instalments).

5. You view the detailed payment plan and total amount to repay, including interest.

6. You can confirm and complete the operation.

The invoice must have been issued less than 60 days ago. If you received an invoice more than two months ago, you cannot pay it in instalments with Qonto's Pay Later. If the invoice also has a due date, it cannot be more than 10 days prior to the date you make your financing request.

You can finance your supplier invoices with deferred payment, but other payment solutions exist. Here are examples of alternatives to Pay Later:

• current account credit (bank overdraft) that you can get from your bank
• business leasing
• factoring
• crowdlending or crowdfunding

These financing forms all have advantages, disadvantages, and a cost that you must evaluate based on your financial situation and needs.

• Overdraft credits offer quick access to funds, but often have higher interest rates
• Leasing is ideal for financing vehicles or professional equipment
• Factoring allows you to get immediate liquidity through the sale of receivables
• Crowdlending allows financing from a large number of private investors

To be eligible for Qonto's Pay Later service, the invoice must be a readable and good quality document, so the system can automatically recognize the data it contains. The supplier invoice must contain:

• the issue date, which must not exceed 60 days;
• the total amount including tax, with a minimum of 150 euros;
• the supplier's full name (appearing in the logo is not sufficient);
• an identification number (SIREN, SIRET, supplier's VAT number). If indicated, the due date cannot be more than 10 days prior to the financing request date.

In case of delay in paying an instalment, your Qonto account is subject to restrictions until your situation is regularized:

• you lose access to B2B invoice deferred payment;
• your account is blocked: no payment by payment card, transfer or direct debit is possible;
• daily penalties of 0.04% are applied to the instalment capital. 

To resolve the situation, you must top up your account with the necessary amount and settle the overdue instalment (instalment + accumulated penalties). 

If the delay exceeds 5 days, you permanently lose access to deferred payment for your future transactions.

To avoid this, Qonto sends you an email 3 days before each due date with details of the payment to be made.

With Qonto, you can buy now and pay later for your supplier invoices. To benefit from this credit payment, you must choose a financing duration: 3, 9 or 12 instalments. This service isn't free, but it's very attractive since you can access deferred payment at low cost. Indeed, the monthly interest rate starts from only 0.62%. Interest is applied to the borrowed capital, and depends on the requested financing duration.
